THIS IS THE PRAYER POPE FRANCIS SAID IN THE ROSARY FOR AN END OF THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Full text of the prayer that the Pope prayed at the beginning of the recitation of the Rosary for an end of the War in Ukraine

This Tuesday, May 31, at the end of the month of the Virgin Mary, Pope Francis raised a special prayer in the Rosary for Peace and the end of war throughout the world, especially in Ukraine, which is facing an invasion at the hands of Russia since February 24 this year.

The Holy Father prayed before the image of the Virgin Queen of Peace, which is in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, in Rome, the place where he usually goes to pray before and after each of his international trips.

Below is the full text of the prayer that the Pope prayed at the beginning of the recitation of the Rosary , in which the Sorrowful Mysteries are meditated:

Oh Mary, Mother of God and Queen of Peace,
during the pandemic we gathered around you to ask for your intercession.

We have asked you to support the sick and give strength to medical personnel,
we have implored mercy for the dying
and to wipe away the tears of those who suffered in silence and solitude.

Tonight, at the end of the month of May, to you particularly consecrated,
we stand before you once again, Queen of Peace, to beseech you:
grant the great gift of peace, soon cease war,
which has also invaded the European continent.

We are aware that peace cannot only be the result of negotiations
or a consequence only of political agreements,
but rather it is above all the Easter gift of the Holy Spirit.

We have consecrated the nations at war to your Immaculate Heart
and we have asked for the great gift of the conversion of hearts.

We are sure that with the weapons of prayer, fasting and almsgiving
and with the gift of your grace, the hearts of men
and the fate of the entire world can be changed.

Today we raise our hearts to you, Queen of Peace:
intercede for us before your Son,
reconcile hearts full of violence and revenge,
redirect thoughts full of the desire for easy enrichment,
and may your lasting peace reign over all the earth.

Amen
