SAINT CLAUDE DE LA COLOMBIERÉ

Saint of the day February 15

Feast Day: February 15

Lived (February 2, 1641 - February 15, 1682)

Claude was a Jesuit Priest, who showed remarkable skills in preaching, long before his Ordination in 1675.

He worked hard to spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He was Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque's confessor.

He was later sent to England to serve as the Confessor for the Duchess of York. There he met his death as tensions arose against Catholics and Claude, was rumoured to be part of a plot against the king. This caused his imprisonment and he was ultimately banished, but by then he had lost his health.

In 1992, Pope John Paul II canonised him.
