Our Lady of the Assumption

The feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary commemorates her passing from this life into heaven.

The Church teaches that Our Lady died and was gloriously taken up to heaven, body and soul, by her only Son, Jesus Christ. The virtues Our Lady portrays are not just from herself. Our Lady chose to magnify God in her lowliness and by so doing, she became the mother of God.

Let us all, the children of the Blessed Virgin Mary, ask that we may emulate her examples by seeking the graces to lead our lives in God.

Let us pray...

Almighty and ever living God,

All creations rightly gives You praise,

For all life, and all holiness comes from You,

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For she who bore Your only begotten Son in her womb,

Was raised body and Soul to be with Him in heaven.

We ask that You kindly help us to emulate the graces she portrays,

So as to join at the end of our Pilgrimage here on earth in an unending hymn of praise,

Through Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
