FULANI HERDSMEN ATTACK SACRED HEART MINOR SEMINARY, JALINGO

Fulani herdsmen attack sacred heart minor seminary in taraba

The Sacred Heart Minor Seminary was attacked today, May 28, 2018, at about 12:30am.

According to the Rector,  Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Atsue,  "from their discussion, their grief was that the Security Men in the Seminary have been challenging their decision to graze their Cattle right inside the School Compound, around the Classes, the Football field and the Laundry. They said they can graze wherever they, even in the Church if grasses happen to grow there."

"The heavily armed Fulani Herdsmen shot sporadically at the Rector's residence, broke Window glasses and windscreen of the Vehicles, beat up Rev. Fr. Stephen Bakari and shot Rev. Fr. Cornelius Kobah on the leg."

"Normalcy has been restored, thanks to the rapid response of the Police, the Army,  Civil Defense and the local Vigilantee. Our Students are complete," said Fr. Emmanuel Atsue, "none is missing, only the two that showed them the way to the Father's House were injured with the wood at which they used in beating them.

The Bishop, most Rev. Charles Hammawa of the diocese of Jalingo had approved a week break for the Students to recover from the trauma and to show themselves to their Parents that they are safe.
